OBITUARY.
WIRETA PITAMA. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 7. Wireta Tainui Pitama, who died at Tuahhvi on Saturday, was a leading member of the Maori community of Canterbury. He acted as advocate in the Native Land Courts, and was a leading advocate of the Maoris in the great Ngatahu claims before a Commission was appointed. He was chairman of the recently constituted Ngatahu Trust Board. He contested k the southern Maori seat three time* 1 unsucessfully,
