Mr J. E. Henrys left for the north on Saturday.
Mr Walter Clifford (Christchurch) and Mr Charles Clifford (Stonyhursfc) were in Timaru on Saturday. * Brigadier Gardner (Christchurch), passed through Timaru early on Saturday morning, by the midnight express from Dunedin. Private advice has been received in Dunedin of the death in Melbourne of the Rev. Graham Balfour, a former minister of the First Church. Rear-Admiral Byrd, accompanied by members of his personal staff and Mr H. L. Tapley, will leave Dunedin this morning for Christchurch and Wellington. Mr H. Spry, a well-known Melbourne manufacturer and racing enthusiast, and Mr V. O’Neill, the ex-New Zealander now training successfully in Victoria, were among the visitors to the S.C.J.C. meeting last week. Mr E. G. Kerr, managing-director of "The Timaru Herald,” left Timaru on Saturday for Auckland, where he joins the New Zealand delegation for the Imperial Press Conference in London. The delegation sail by the Niagara for Vancouver.
