DISASTER AVERTED
GALLANT EFFORTS OF BRITISH TROOPS. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 4, 7.10 p.m.) DELHI, April 4. Gallant efforts by British troops averted an explosion of 28.0001 bof gunpowder, and a large quantity of ammunition during a big blaze in a munitions factory at Kirkee, near Poona. A sentry gave the alarm early in the morning, and two companies of the Royal Munster Rifles, artillerymen and members of the Tank Corps fought the flames for two hours, with, a small engine, removing barrels of gunpowder from the blazing main magazine. A special congratulatory order has been issued by the Poona brigade area commander.
