DOG TRIALS CONCLUDED. The Geraldine Collie Dog Club** trials were successfully concluded yesterday on the farm of Blair brothers, at Peel Forest. Weather conditions were glorious in the morning, but nor’west conditions prevailed in the afternoon. There was a large attendance of spectators, and the work by the dogs was of a high order. The collies owned by Messrs G. Keeffe, J. Anderson, B. Priddie, J. C. Evans and E. Davis put up some fine performances, and carried off the prizes in most of the main events. The results were as follows: OPEN HUNTAWAY AND MAIDEN (31 entries, maximum 38 points). G. Keeffe’6 Glen (hunt 12, command 12, noise 8, style 5), 37 points. Time, 6min. 55secs 1 G. Keeffe’s Don (hunt 11, command 12. noise 8, style 5), 36 points. Time, 6min. 16secs 2 L. J. Anderson’s Flag (hunt 10. command 11, noise 8. style 4), 33 points. Time, smin. 32secs 3 B. Priddie’s Bob (hunt 9, command 11, noise 8, style 3), 31 points. Time, Bmin. 10secs 4 Glen, the winner, put up a very good performance, and Don did good work, though rather off the course nearing the second flag. The maiden section, which was judged from the same event, resulted: B. Priddie’s Bob, 31 points 1 F. Johnstone’s Choice (hunt 8, command 6, noise 6, style 3), 23 points 2 L. J. Evans’s Brandy (hunt 7, command 6, noise 6, style 3), 22 points 3 B. Priddie's Bob put up a fine run, though inclined to swing at times, not following too well. The second dog, F. Johnson’s Choice, went through fairly well. Although it was too high at the third, it recovered nicely. OPEN SHORT PULL AND YARD (26 entries, maximum 40 points). J. Anderson’s Toby (head 9, back 10, style 5, yard 5, command 10), 39 points. Time, 9min. 57secs 1 J. C. Evans’s Bob (head 10, back 9, style 4, yard 5, command 9), 37 points. Time, Bmin. 17secs 2 J. Anderson’s Rogue (head 9, back 9, style 4, yard 5. command 9), 36 points. Time, 7min. 48secs 3 G. P. Johnson’s Wave (head 8, back 10, style 3i, yard 5, command 9), 35i points. Time, Bmin. 45secs. .. 4 J. Anderson’s Toby, cast to the right, wide and high, and headed in 1.30. It made a good pull and did excellent work at the yard. J. C. Evans’s Bob cast to the right and went out well, making a good head. It pulled well on a good line, although a little off the course nearing the yard. OPEN LONG PULL AND MAIDEN (27 entries, maximum 27 points)— B. Priddie’s Reed (head 9, back 12, command 9, ring 5, style 3), 38 points 1 C. Parker’s Belle (head 9*, back 11, command 9, ring 5, style 3), 37J points 2 E. Davis’s Tara Jack (head 9, back 11, command 9, ring 5, style 3), 37 points 3 J. Anderson’s Rish (head 9. back 10, command 9, ring 5, style 3), 36 points 4 B. Priddie’s Reed made a good run out and a good head, although a trifle light. Parker’s Belle went out freely, making rather a close head. It pulled well on a good line and was a little fast nearing the yard. His ring work was good. The maiden event resulted:— B. Kennedy’s rooms on Thursday, at 8 p.m. “ LEGION OF THE CONDEMNED.” Characterised as the companion picture to “Wings,” Paramount’s great epic of the air, “The Legion of the Condemned,” comes to the Geraldine Municipal Theatre this afternoon and evening. The photoplay deals with an unattached flying unit at the French front, composed of men who, because of their dark pasts, wanted to die. Their daring exploits were the talk of the war. Nothing was too hazardous as an undertaking. Into this group of men who welcomed death comes Gary Cooper as the young American newspaperman, betrayed by his sweetheart. The high spot shows Cooper forced to carry his ex-sweetheart across the German lines as a spy. Fay Wray, as the spy-sweetheart, and Cooper, head the cast. Supports include a two-reel comedy and a Gazette. There will be a matinee this afternoon. CROQUET MATCH.
