FIRES
EASTBOURNE DWELLINGS BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Aasociatloi. WELLINGTON, March 15. Two dwellings, with contents, were totally destroyed by fire at Eastbourne, and a third considerably damaged in the early hours of this morning. One of the houses, both of which were modern bungalows, was owned and occupied by Mrs Jacobs, of Wellington, and the other was owned by Mrs Waters, of Wellington, and occupied by Mr and Mrs Hunt. A high northerly wind carried the flames from Mrs Waters’s property to that of Mrs Jacobs, and the fire also spread to a third house belonging to Mr D. Bowie, but the outbreak here was checked after some damage had been done.
