NOTES. The Gale arrived here yesterday, and is to load cargo for Wellington anu Wanganui to-day. The Progress is expected to arrive at this port to-day from the north, end after loading cargo is to proceed to Dunedin. To load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne, the Waipahi is scheduled to arrive at Timaru to-morrow. The Karetu, from Sydney, is due on Wednesday next to discharge general cargo. She is to load for Sydney and Newcastle, and sail via Oamaru and Bluff. The Calm is listed to arrive at this port on Wednesday. She is expected to load consignments of cargo for Wellington and Wanganui, via Lyttelton.

From Oamaru, to load cargo at Timaru for Wellington and Wanganui, the Storm is expected here about March 21.

The Breeze is scheduled to arrive at on March 22, tot- lift cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. From Auckland, via ports, the Wingatui is due to arrive at Timaru about March 22, to load and discharge general cargo. From Dunedin, for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth, the Opihi is expected at Timaru on March 23. From Auckland, via ports, the Waipiata is scheduled to arrive at Timaru about April 1. Overseas. The Northumberland arrived here yesterday, and is to start loading frozen meat and general cargo to-day for London and Continental ports.

The Remuera, from Bluff, is scheduled to arrive at Timaru about March 21. She is to load frozen meat and reneral cargo for Home and Continental ports, sailing finally from New Zealand about April 1.

The Canadian Explorer and the Canadian Transporter, both from Halifax, are expected at Timaru, via prrts, on March 19 and April 20, i\ pectively.

The City of Lincoln from New York is scheduled to arrive at Timaru via New Zealand ports about March 30. The Cambridge is expected to sail from Liverpool about March 29, for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Port Chalmers.

CORNWALL STILL AGROUND. (Un'tud Press Association—By Elecirio telegraph—Copyright.) (Received March 16. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 15. The. Cornwall is still aground, and is discharging her cargo. Fifty tons of wool was despatched with the salvage steamer Warbler. COMORIN SAFE. CARGO SERIOUSLY DAMAGED. (United Press Association—By Electric "Telegraph—Copyright.) COLOMBO. March 14. The Comorin is now completely out of danger, and will resume her voyage on Sunday, taking her full complement of passengers. The extent of the damage has net yet been ascertained, but it is stated to be slight. The fire was extinguished late last night. There was a slight list to starboard, due to the large quantities of water pumped into the holds, but with the pumping out of the water the ship regained an e/en keel.

A message from Sydney says that the Marine Underwriters’ Association there has received a message from Colombo stating that all the refrigerated cargo aboard the Comorin has been destroyed. The mails from Australia are in grave danger. Other cargo has already been damaged, and the saloon decks are buckling with the heat.
