SUMMER TIME PASSES,

Summer time faded away in the early hours of Sunday morning just as quietly as it was ushered in during spring of last year. There were few that forgot the luxury of having the extra half hour in bed. but the change was hardly the subject of conversation, the alteration of the clocks beingtaken as a nißtter of course. A story is told of one ardent reader who set his clock half-an-hour forward and found himself at church punctually at 10 a.m. The antagonism that was at one time shown by farmers to “Sidey Time” seems to have abated. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs John South. “Cvoyden,” Woodbury, is spending a holiday at Hanmer. Mr R. McGregor, of Geraldine, has returned from a holiday in Dunedin. Mr R. Moyle, who is on annual leave, is spending his holiday in Wellington. Mr R. Mcllroy spent the week-end in Geraldine. He will return to Christchurch to-day. One member of the Geraldine Borough Council attained the age of seventy “not out” on Saturday, and was the recipient of congratulations from hi numerous friends. He has been a City Father for a large number of years, and has always associated himself with any movement for the advancement of Geraldine. Mrs Sinclair Thompson. “The Crossing," Geraldine, who has been staying with Mrs PI. Sinclair Thompson, Park Lane. Thnaru, is now the guest of Mrs Neill, “Barossa,” Mount Somers. Mr and Mrs Barker. Four Peaks, and Mrs C. Burton, Woodbury, have left for the south on a fishing trip. Mrs James Maling, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs Orford, "The Downs,” Geraldine. Mr Morris Williams, Geraldine, is spending a fishing holiday at the Rakaia mouth. IN QUEST OF SALMON.
