ANOTHER PARACHUTE DISASTER. (United Press Association—By Electrio Tel egraph—Copyright.) (Received February 24, 7.0 p.m.) SAN FTtANCISCO, February 23. Fred Mahan, the nationally prominent welter-weight boxer, who was a deaf mute, plunged to death in a 6000 ft parachute jump from an aeroplane, in an effort to regain his hearing. Only the pilot’s parachute opened.
