ONE SHILLING DAMAGES.
CONCLUSION OF LIBEL ACTION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, February 22. The libel action in which Norman Mclver claimed £2OOO from the David Syme Company for damages arising from statements published in the Melbourne “Age” and “Leader” newspapers in December, 1928, in connection with the bomb outrage at the Greek Club, resulted in a verdict for the plaintiff for one shilling against each paper. Mclver was among several of those arrested, but was acquitted. He complained that the published statements tended to make him appear as a desperate criminal, but he had nothing to do with any outrage.
