APPEAL TO SOVIET.
AMERICAN INTEREST IN ARRESTED JEWS. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received February 23, 11.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, February 23. Senator Borah is attempting to intercede with the Soviet, on behalf of fourteen Jewish rabbis, who were recently arrested. He is working independently of the State Department, which is taking no action. Senator Borah admitted that he has sent a cablegram to the Soviet authorities at Moscow, asking for details of the reported arrest, but declined to discuss the case, pending a reply. “Several days ago,” said Senator Borah, “I •was asked by many Americans to interest myself in the situation. I will do so. I am still working on the matter.”
