AMERICA’S OIL KINGS.
BIG MERGER ANNOUNCED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received February 23, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 21. The directors of both corporations announce that a 900,000,000 dollars merger of the Standard Oil Company, New York, and the Vacuum Oil Company, the two former units of the Standard Oil "Trust,” which was dissolved, by consent decree in the United States Supreme Court, in 1911. From a letter to the stockholders It is revealed that the Government intends to contest the legality of the merger in the Courts.
