Following on the decision of the department to permit Sunday tennis on asphalt courts id the Government Gardens at Rotorua, a movement has been started in Te Aroha to secure permission for Sunday play on the Tourist Department’s four asphalt courts in the Domain fronting the hot springs. Hopes are entertained that the four grass courts and two bowlin greens will also be made available to the public on Sundays It is argued that if facilities for the playing of tennis and bowls were available, and the mineral baths thrown open on Sundays, Te Aroha would quickly become a most popular week end tourist and health resort.
