SENSATION IN GERMANY.
Dr. Kramer Assassiinated,
BLOOD HOUNDS MISS SCENT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received February 21, 7.20 p.m.) BERLIN. February 20. A sensation has been caused throughout Germany by the assassination of Dr Kramer, the millionaire mine owner, in the garden of his own house, following a similar attempt two and a h»lf years ago. As before, the assassin escaped under the cover of darkness, and even blood hounds, which were immediately in action, were unable to pick up the scent. Dr Kramer was walking in his garden awaiting some dinner guests, and was seeking a parking place for one of his friend’s cars, when the the headlights allowed him to be silhouetted. Immediately a shot from behind rang out, and Dr Kramer collapsed. He was just able to whisper a message to his wife, when he died. The police are still undetermined as to whether the assassin was a dismissed employee or a political antagonist, as Dr Kramer was an eminent member of the German People’s Party. The previous attempt suggests, however, that a sensational society drama may be revealed.
