RECORD LIFT FOR THE PORT OF TIMARU. The port authorities of Timaru this week successfully faced the problem of discharging a turbine drive wheel weighing 21 tons from the overseas vessel Cumberland. A special railway truck was required to convey the wheel to the Waitaki hydro-electric works at Kurow.
