SOCIAL NOTES.

Mr and Mrs H. J. Liggo, Sydney, have arrived at the Grand to spend a few days holiday.

Mr and Mrs J. Strattin, Wiltshire, England, have arrived at the Grand for a short holiday. Mr J. Dunlop, who has been at the Grand, will return- to Dunedin this week end.

Mrs M. Fleming is at the Grand from Wellington for a week’s holiday in Timaru.

Mr and Mrs Tibbitts who had been holidaying at the Grand, returned to Dunedin yesterday. Mrs Geoffrey Potts, accompanied by Miss McAllum, left the Grand for Palmerston North on Thursday.

Mrs and Miss Crow, Dunedin, are spending ten days holiday at the Grand.

Mr and Mrs Geo. Ellison, Melbourne are at the Grand for a holiday in Timaru.

3 Mrs Donald, who has been on a visit to Ashburton, is staying with her daughter, Mrs Park, Bidwill Flats.

Mr and Mrs D. W. Reese returned from Christchurch by yesterday’s express.

Mrs Howey and Mrs H. H. Webb, “Coolavin,” Sefton Street, are on a visit to Christchurch.

Captain and Mrs S. M. Satterthwaite, Dunedin, who have been staying with Mrs T. W. Satterthwaite, Elizabeth Street, left on Thursday for the north.

Miss Eileen O’Meeghan has returned to Timaru after an absence of three years on the Continent and in England.

Mrs Wilford Scott, Pleasant Point, who has been on a visit to his mother, Mrs Sams, Christchurch, is expected home to-day.

Mr and Mrs F. Hamilton, Redcliffs, who were staying with the Misses Woollcombe, Trafalgar Street, have returned home.

Dr and Mrs L. S. Talbot, Te Weka Street, who have been attending the Medical Conference in Christchurch, returned home on Thursday.

Miss Jean Mcßae, North Canterbury, who has been on a visit to Mrs Murray, “Braemar,” is now the guest of Mrs J. Scott, Cannington.

Miss Mary Mackenzie, “Otumarama,” who has been on a visit to Mrs James Scott, Cannington, returned home yesterday. Mrs Geoffrey Potts, Palmerston North, who was the guest of Mrs G. J. Wallace, Albert Street, left yesterday for Christchurch.

Mr and Mrs H\ D. W. Brewer, accompanied by Misses A. and J. Brewer, motored from Dunedin to the Grand for a brief stay in Timaru.

Mrs H. J. B. and Misses M. and P. Munro, accompanied by Miss Taylor, left the Grand for Rugged Ridges, Kurow, after a long holiday in Timaru.

Mr and Mrs John Crompton, St. Anne’s, England, accompanied by Mrs G. E. B. McWilliam, have motored to the Grand for a short stay in Timaru.

Mr A. A. Lucas and Miss Lucas, Nelson, who left the Grand for the Hermitage yesterday, will return to Timaru on Wednesday.

Dr and Mrs Iverach, Dunedin, motored to the Grand from Mount Cook, to conclude their holiday in Timaru.

Mrs C. F. Hamilton, Fairlie, accompanied by Mrs H. V. Drew, Chatham Islands, left the Grand for Ashwick Station yesterday.

Misses M. and I. Davis and Mr Louis Davis motored to the Grand from the Southern Lakes to spend a few days in Timaru.

Mr and Mrs Geo. H. Paterson, Fair Lawn, New Jersey, U.S.A., accompanied by Miss A. M. Green, who have just concluded ten days holidays at the Grand, left for the south yesterday. Mrs E. G. Kerr, “Ardgour,” Sealy Street, and Miss Goldie, Totara Valley, will leave to-day to stay with Mrs Trevor Hawkes, Cashmere Road, Christchurch.
