HAND BALL.

Here is such an amusing game to play at your next party. Two people pick sides, and then two rows of chairs are placed quite close together and facing each other; at each end of the row there is one chair placed so that the occupant is looking down the row. One person on each side is chosen as goal-keeper, and the rest take their seats in the chairs, the two “goalies” taking the two top chairs. A “grownup” is asked to throw a balloon into the middle —just about half-way down the row—and then each side tries to hit it with the palms of their hands toward the goal. The left-hand row’s goal is just beyond their goal-keeper and vice versa. No one is allowed to stand up in their seats or to throw the balloon; you must just hit is as far as you can with the palm of your hand. Of course, the goal-keeper has to do all she can to prevent the balloon being hit over her shoulder. Each time the ballon passes the goalkeeper’s chair, a goal is scored. Some one should keep “time” —five minutes is long enough.
