DEAREST CIRCLIANS, I wish you could see my little new kitten. You would love him [ know, for he is just the tiniest prettiest kitten that ever *was. He has a black furry coat, four white paws, a wee white waistcoat, s zheeky, white-tipped nose, long white whiskers, and a very big purr He is so small he is not much bigger than my hand, and he has jus! been mine for a day and a half. The only thing he wants at present (for he has just had a big drink of milk), is a name. —What are we going to do about it? He is such a pretty wee fellow that I think—if he is good—we should let him be our Circle Mascot. So of course he must have a nice name. Now, let me see—what shall we call him? —I know what we will do. You often ask me to find names for youi pussies and little pet things, so now I want you to find something nice and suitable for me to call this Very-Small-Kitten-Without-A-Name. Yes, we will have a Naming Competition, and the Circliar who sends me the best name for my pussy Will win a special little prize. Just tell me in your letters what you think our kitten ought tc be called. I will let you have till Saturday, March Bth, to name pussj for me. Till then the little black and white bit of mischief will just bf :alled “Kitten-Without-A-Name.” Send me the very nicest name yov 2an think of, won’t you. It will be such fun getting them all. Such a sad thing happened to my other pussy—big black Christopher Robin. He ate a poisoned hir'd and died, and I did miss* him bo. He was the most affectionate fellow, and always used to follow.m< wherever I went. He would trot along at my heels, just like a smal black dog, and it was often ever so hard to chase him home when ] [ was going for long walks. My new kitten is having such a splendid game chasing his tail an the floor in front of me. What lots of fun kittens and puppies have with their tails. They seem to think they are there just to be played with. —Gracious! This is a very “kitteny” sort of letter, isn’t it!
