FLORAL SOCIETY
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Committee of the Timaru Floral and Horticultural Society was held in the C.F.C.A. Board Room last night. Present—Mr W. T. Hogg (president), Mesdames A. Segar. R. H. Rhodes, W. J. Rooney, G. J.. Wallace, W. C. Burns, A. J. Wigley, F. Barker, J. Auld, and Messrs J. Moody, A. S. Jones, A. Thoreau, J. Cleland, G. S. Ridley and the hon. secretary (Mr P. T. Knowles). The chairman said that the Bay Hall had been booked for the autumn show. It was decided, on the motion of Mrs Burns, that there should be no music at the show'. It was stated that M” and Mrs R. Nairn, Christchurch, would act as judges of the cut flowers and decorative sections respectively, Mr H. Edgington.of fruit and vegetables; and Mr W. Thomas, M.A., the writing and drawing. Mrs Rhodes suggested that an effort be made to see that exhibitors arranged their displays as earlv as possible on the morning of the show. Class stewards were appointed as follow's: —Cut flowers, Messrs G. Snowies and A. S. Jones; decorative section. ! Mesdames J. Auld, W. C. Burns and G. J. Wallace; children’s decorative section, Mrs G. J. Wallace; fruit and vegetables, Messrs J. Cleland and A. Thoreau.
