TORRENTIAL RAINS

Torrential rains throughout a large portion of the country traversed by the east-west railway have caused wash-aways at several places. The eastbound express with the Orford's mail is held up at Loongan’s and the passengers are expected to be marooned there for several days. The mail aeroplane has been detained at Forrest, where the flooded landing grounds prevents its taking off. The westbound train is also detained.
