OPIUM SMUGGLING
COURT IMPOSES HEAVY PENALTIES. (United Press Association —By Eiectrle Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received February 20, 10.30 p.m.) HONGKONG, February 20. In the Changet opium case, one of the defendants was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment with hard labour in addition to a fine of 80,000 dollars, in default a further year in gaol. The other deefndant was ordered to pay the same fine, in default a year’s imprisonment with hard labour.
