THE GAS-HOLDER SITE.
To the Editor of the “ Timaru Herald ’* Sir.—ln a recent issue of your paper a letter appeared over the signature, “Gasometer,” stating that William Evans, Esq., of this town, did not own one foot of land in Chapel Street. Will you kindly allow space enough to point out that the gentleman in question has not given anyone the impression that he did own land in Chapel Street. The land owned by the above is in Theodocia and Arthur Streets: —I am, etc., A. MORRIE TAYLOR, Engineer and Manager, Timaru Gas, Coal and Coke, Co. Ltd. Timaru, February 20.
