Miss F. Boddington who has been the guest of Mrs Ross Brodie. Rangitata. has returned to Christchurch. Mrs Familton, Oarnaru. with Mrs D. Willcocks. Waimate, are on a short visit to Timaru. Mrs and Miss Crowe. Dunedin, arrived on Tuesday to spend a few days at the Grand. Miss Taine, Hanmer. is the guest of Mrs W. E. Mills, “Scotston,” St. 'Andrews. Miss Maude Myers. “Southburn,” left on Tuesday to stay with her sister, Mrs W. Younie, Wellington. Miss Margery Gibbs, who was the guest of Mrs A. Rathbone, Wai-iti Road, has returned to Dunedin. Miss Brenda Cuthbertson, who is the guest of Mrs E. A. Scott, Seddon Street, will return to Oamaru to-day. Miss Patricia Ritchie, “Te Tawa,” has returned from a visit to Mrs Stanley Batchelor, Dunedin. Mrs Morton, Fairlie, who was the guest of Mrs C. E. Shallcrass, Otipua Road, returned home yesterday. Mrs Colin Douglas, Waimate, is on a visit to her father-in-law, Mr J. Douglas, Christchurch. Miss Blake, Christchurch, who was the guest of Mrs C. E. Shallcrass, Otipua Road, returned home on Tuesday. Mrs H. V. Drew. Chatham Islands, will leave to-day for Fairlie, where she will be the guest of Mrs W. F. Hamilton, “Ashwick.” Mr and Mrs R. R. Beauchamp, Tekapo, who have been oh a visit to Queenstown, returned -home yesterday. Mrs W. A. Moore, Wai-iti Road, who has been staying with her parents, Sir Josephy and Lady Kinsey, Christchurch, returned home yesterday. Miss Kathleen Bristed, the popular Christchurch golfer and swimmer, who will leave next week for England, where her marriage to Paymaster Lieutenant W. G. Hewson, R.N.. will take place, has been the guest of honour at several parties given by Christchurch hostesses, including Miss Betty Cotterill, Miss Ruth Wynn-Williams, and Miss Isobel Turrell. Engagements: The engagement is announced of Hilda Doreen Shaw, Tamahese, Hamilton. late of Waitohi and Temuka, to Percy Harold Baker, of Auckland.
