Dominion Meteorologist. A slight depression has crossed the South Island, but the barometers have risen again over Tasmania, and are still high over northern New Zealand. Expect winds northerly at first about Cook Strait, but south-west to southerly winds becoming general by morning; force moderate to strong. Seas becoming rather rough south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate. Weather mainly fair to cloudy, but with some scattered showers, more especially on the East Coast of the South Island. Temperatures again becoming cool.
