NOTES. The Waipahi arrived yesterday from Lyttelton, and loaded cargo for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. She sailed later for Lyttelton. The Karepo, from Westport, lifted a shipment of cargo at Timaru yes- / terday. returning to Westport direct. The Waipiata, to load for -Wellington direct, and then Auckland, should call here to-day. To pick up general cargo for Wellington and Wanganui, via Lyttelton, the Storm is due at this port to-day. The Breeze is expected to lift cargo from here on Saturday next, for her usual northern .ports. The Kahika, from Dunedin and Oamaru, should load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth on February 25. The Calm is expected at this port about February 26, to ship cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. The undermentioned steamers left Port Chalmers last night for Timaru: — 5.5 p.m., Progress; 6.55, Golden Cloud; 7 p.m., Port Darwin; 7.5, Canadian Challenger; 7.15,' Waipiata; 9 p.m., Storm. The Karetu left Bluff at 7 p.m. From Auckland, via ports, the Wingatui is listed to arrive here about February 28, to discharge cargo. She will then load for Wellington and Auckland. Overseas. The Cumberland sailed yesterday for Wanganui, and will leave New Zealand finally for Home ports about March 15. The Port Denison listed to arrive here to-da'y, to load frozen meat and wool for London and the United Kingdom. The Golden Cloud is due at this port to-day, and she will take on general cargo for overseas ports. The Canadian Challenger, from Dunedin, is scheduled to call here today, to discharge and load cargo. She will, among other things, load wool from the Timaru wool sale. After leaving this port she will sail for New York, Boston and Halifax, via Lyttelton. The Coptic, from Wellington, is due here to-morrow, to load frozen meat and general cargo. To load general cargo for overseas ports, the Anglo-Canadian is expected at this port to-morrow. The Westmoreland, from Wellington, is scheduled to arrive at Timaru on February 24. She will load general merchandise for London, and will also discharge a quantity of cargo here. She will sail finally for Home ports from Wellington on March 6. The Port Brisbane is listed to arrive here on February 25, to discharge general cargo from London. She will proceed to New Plymouth, via Lyttelton. The Mamilius is listed to arrive at Timaru about February 27, to load frozen meat, dairy produce and general cargo for London. The Valacia, from New York, via New Zealand ports, is expected at Timaru on March 10. She will discharge and load general cargo, and will then proceed to Dunedin. The Northumberland on March 13 and the Rumera on March 21 are both scheduled to load frozen meat and general cargo for London and Continental ports. The Canadian Explorer and the Canadian Transporter, both from Halifax, are expected at Timaru, via ports, on March 21 and April 20, respectively.

VESSELS CHANGE OWNERS. (Un'ted Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 19? The Union Company has completed the purchase of the R. S. Lamb Company’s timber-carrying steamer Gabriella, now en route to New Zealand. The Kalingo is already in Dominion waters. The Omana is at present laid rp at Sydney, and a ship is now being built in the United Kingdom similar to the Kalingo. The vessels have really been en raged carrying hardwoods from Troff’s Harbour and Port Stephens to New Zealand with return loadings of pine.
