BOXING.
SARRON OUTBOXES LECKIE. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 4. Pete Sarron, the Alabama Syrian, gave Johnny Leckie, a boxing lesson before a crowded audience at the Town Hall, to-night. The American showed beautiful footwork and speed, to practically do as he liked. Sarron rushed his man to the ropes in the second round and drove a terrific right to the nose, from which the New Zealander never recovered. He had difficulty in breathing, and was spitting blood, but gamely carried on until the end of the ninth round, when he intimated that he was unable to continue, owing to difficulty he was experiencing in breathing on account of his nose having been broken in the second round.
