WELLINGTON, October 31. In the New Zealand amateur billiards championship, W. N. Tucker (Wellington) beat J. Petley (Wellington) 666 to 603. H. J. Shanks (Wellington) beat A. Freeman (Wellington) 666 to 559. A. Bowie (Auckland) holder, beat H. Wakem (Federal Club) by 666 to 581. The winner was not quite up to his best form, having travelled from Auckland the previous night. Bowie’s winning hazards were a strong feature of his play.
