THE WEATHER.
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind is decreasing, the southerly changing to easterly. The weather is still somewhat unsettled, but mainly fair to cold. Dominion Meteorologist. Yesterday’s cyclone is now centred near the Chatham Islands, but a secondary cyclone, which developed this morning, is located just north-east of Auckland. An anti-cyclone covers the western Tasman. Winds will be southerly and strong to a gale, but decreasing gradually in the southern districts. Seas generally rough to heavy, but decreasing on the West Coast of the South Island. Tasman Sea strong, but decreasing. There will be southerly winds and rough seas in the eastern Tasman. The weather will improve in the western districts, especially of the South Island, elsewhere there will be stiff cold, cloudy, and unsettled weather, with further rain or passing showers. Some heavy falls in the Hawke’s Bay and Bay of Plenty districts, with some hard frosts in the interior of the South Island will be experienced.
