BLUECLIFFS RIFLE CLUB. At the weekly shoot of the Bluecliffs Rifle Club, there was a good attendance. Miss Ward's trophy for the first possible was won by M. The Anglican Church was well filled recently, when the Bishop of the Diocese visited the parish for the purpose of confirmation. The vicar (Rev. J. Hay) presented 14 candidates to His Lordship for the laying on of hands. The service was a most impressive one. After the service, a social hour was spent in the Parish Hall, to enable the newly-confirmed and others to meet the Bishop. DANCE AT ESK VALLEY. The spinsters, bachelors and residents of Esk Valley held a most enjoyable dance in Mr W. E. Mills' granary. The building was artistically decorated with greenery. The committee expressed thanks to Mr Mills for the use of his granary, and to all who helped towards the success of the dance. Excellent music was supplied by a Timaru orchestra, an extra being played by Mr W. Oordon. Mr R. Morris carried out the duties of M.C. A lucky spot waltz was won by Miss M. Daly and Mr R. Morris. Amongst the large number present were the following: Mesdames Mills, Stowell, Sauer, Morris, Bishop, Thomas. Pye, Copland. Reilly, Coup. F.
