ROAD REOPENED.
WAIRARAPA FLOODS RECEDING. By Teler *ph—Pres* A*«ociati«n. MASTERTON. August 27. The main road between- Featherston and Martinborough, where it was washed out in the recent floods, is now repaired, and has been opened for all traffic. The floods waters have receded at Pahautea and Pukio. and vehicles are able to get in from the Pukio end, but lower down the Valley there are still large areas under water, and it will probably be some days yet before it gets away. No big losses of stock are reported, as settlers had ample warning of the impending flood.
