DISTRICT NURSE FUND

ANNUAL APPEAL FOR HELP. On behalf of the District Nurse ' Committee, Mrs F. A. Raymond has . issued the following appeal:— “The time has again arrived to . remind the citizens of Timaru that ; the District Nurse is rendering highly ! efficient and sympathetic service in ; their midst, free of cost to people who need attention in their homes, and ; ■ who are not required to enter the ! Hospital. The class of people treated j are old people, chronic invalids, acci- < 1 dents, families of the workers, that is, ] 1 all who need skilled attention, such as ! 1 washing, dressings, all duties the : ■ medical advisers may require, and who | are unable to pay nursing fees for j j home service. "The Committee find that the work I • of an undoubtedly imperative kind has increased tremendously. The people’ of Timaru, once acquainted with the nature of the work that is being done in the town, are generous enough to see that the old folk and sick folk are not neglected in the time of utmost need. The Committee is confident of response, worthy of our townspeople to the appeal now made for funds. “Citizens can do this on Violet Day, 30th. August, when street collections will be taken up. Will old subscribers j please continue their donations, and j will the many others of this town, who are able to help, enter upon this campaign of humanitarian service, and send their contributions to the hon. secretary, Miss B. Fussell, Russell Square. All donations will be acknowledged in the columns of “The Timaru \ Herald” as soon as possible.” P.S. —Those requiring the services of Sister Adams .please ring up Beverley House, No. 232. £ s. d.
