FINGER-PRINT CASE By Telegraph—Presa Association. PALMERSTON N., August 23. Wallace William Clifford (20), labourer, pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to a charge of bieaking and entering. He was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. The police evidence rests on fingerprint evidence. BICYCLE THEFTS. CHRISTCHURCH, August 23. “If it were not for men like you, who specialised in the dissembling of bicycles. and the selling of parts, there would not bo so much incentive for bicycle stealing,” said Mr E. C. Levvy, S.M.. in sentencing William Arthur Owen Johnson (41), a labourer. who appeared on charges of theft relating to three bicycles valued at £2l, to three months’ hard labour. NEW PLYMOUTH SESSION. NEW PLYMOUTH. Aug 23. The Chief Justice sentenced Everett Yauncey Hughes, for theft as a servant, to twelve months’ reformative treatment. Charles Edward Hatcher, for forgery and uttering, received two years’ Borstal. John Stanford Ludwig, for indecent assault, got twelve months’ reformative treatment.
