They should be addressed to reach him, c/o. “Herald,” not later than Tuesday each week. Scouts B. Courtis, D. Elder, and A. Cameron of the Chalmer’s Troop have now completed their Second Class Tests. At the monthly meeting of the I Chalmer’s Scout Committee it was decided to change the night of the weekly meeting from Thrusday night to Monday night, and the time of meeting from 6.30 to 7 o’clock. There was a good attendance of Brownies at Chalmers’ Pack meeting on Tuesday, when two recruits, Peggy Henshaw and Jean Runciman were enrolled. This increases the roll to twenty-four. The remainder of the afternoon was spent doing Second Class work and playing games. A most enjoyable birthday party was held in St. Johns Hall on Saturday last, when the Highfield Brownie Pack celebrated its fifth anniversary. During the afternoon games were played on the lawn, and later in the hall, which had been very tastefully decorated in the morning with peach blossoms by some of the Brownies. At 5 o’clock twenty-seven Brownies and officers sat down to tea, which had been splendidly catered for by Mrs Dixon. Coloured paper caps and little baskets of sweets made the table look very gay. The five candles were lit by Margaret Murray, the only Brownie who had been in the pack for the five years.

After tea a very enjoyable concert organised by Miss Dixon (acting Brown Owl) was given by the Brownies. The items being as follows:—“A Brownie Song,” by all the Pack; recitation, Ruth Price and Doreen Cundal; dance, Doreen Howey and Joyce Pike; recitation, Valerie Scott. A playette “How Girl’s Study,” was well applauded. Violet McDonald and Joyce Pike gave the Highland Fling; recitation, Marie i Greenwood; song, Joyce Pike and i Doreen Howey; recitation. Llarg. Mur-

ray; piano solo, Joan Robert:; Joyce I Pike, the Clog Dance. Misses Gordina, Lamborn. Todd, Taylor and Murray were the officers present. A happy little dance brought, the evening to a close.
