CHILDHOODS TROUBLES
TIIE EAR. Ear trouble can generally be detected In the first place by headaches. Dull headaches starting at the back of the head and coming over toward the front, with giddiness, may be a warning of midde-ear trouble, writes an authority. Do not neglect it. Frontal headaches with spots and blackness before the eyes may be due to eye strain or some peculiarity in the child’s eyes, which only proper spectacles can put right. When the trouble is rectified the headaches will vanish. Nose troubles, too, will cause headaches. Many a little one with adenoids will suffer from frontal headaches and stabbing pains in the temples. Have the adenoids removed and give the child a chance to breathe and swallow properly, and its headaches will disappear. The nose can get blocked with mucous, due to a fall or a slightly deformed bone, and this will cause distressing headaches until the matter is remedied.
Headaches will often occur if the stomach is upset by unsuitable food. Too many sweets and cakes cause headaches, while defective teeth will bring on neuralgic headaches. Proper stoppage or extraction will put matters right and save a great deal of suffering.
