CHILD'S DEATH DUE TO ACCIDENT. By Telegraph—Freer A«in«<»tlo*. CHRISTCHURCH, August 23. At the inquest into the death of Aileen O’Donoghue (54), was held by Mr Young, S.M., this afternoon. The child was killed by being knocked down by a motor truck in Manchester Street on August 8. Evidence given was to the effect that the child ran across the street without looking to right or left for approaching traffic. The result was she ran right under the wheels of a motor-car and was knocked down, suffering a fracture of the skull, which caused death. Several witnesses agreed that the motor-truck was travelling slowly, and was pulled up-promptly. The Coroner found that death was due to injuries accidentally received, no blame being attachable to the motor-driver.
