£ DEAREST CIRCLIANS, * t Now that holiday-time has come again I am sure all my little I £ artists would like a Painting Competition to keep them busy. I have * £ discovered two Jolly pictures for you to colour, and am having a Com- * i* petition for little people of Ten and Under, and a Competition for * [l Circlians Over Ten. Do not forget to find and paint the Rent Man in « £ in the Pixie Picture, all my “Over Ten” Circlians. Mr. Rent Collector * Ms a very ugly, cross-looking old fellow, and it is no wonder the pixies * £ ran as hard as they could and shut themselves up in their mushroom I f* houses when they saw him coming. This is a quaint, elfin-looking * f* picture, and should be painted ever so carefully with the loveliest * [♦ vivid colours you can find. « I hope all my very small artists will remember to find and colour < i old Mother Sheep, and little Billy Boy’s Lady Mother just as nicely « L and cleverly as they can. Your pictures will look ever so much more < f artistic and carefully finished if you make a pretty cardboard frame ] f* for them. 4 V 4 I am expecting hundreds of entries for these popular Competit- ’ i ions, so get out your paints or crayons, find a quiet corner, and set to < jj work.
