LURE OF ATLANTIC FLIGHTS.
East To Went Crossing. PROGRESS OF “YOUNG SWITZERLAND.” (United Pres* Aseorletmn— By Electr*.# Telegraph -Copyright.) NEW YORK. August 19. A message from Point Auelgardia ( Azores) states that the aeroplane Young Switzerland, en route from Lisbon to New York, was reported passing the Island of Tercira at 4 p.m. (local time), apparently heading for Halifax. The plane was making fine speed, and fcue motors were working well. The flyers apparently averaged about 100 miles per hour. So far thv’ weather bureau predicts favourable wither for the entire flight, with the exception of a slight area of depression north-east of the Azores.
