HOCKEY.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the South Canterbury Hockey Association was held in Mr G. P. Wood’s office last evening. Present: Messrs C. D. Gibson (chairman), W. Stead, W. Gow, J. Shelton, W. G. Annear, R. Rennett, L. Dockrill; Misses J. Orr and A. Robson, and the secretary. The Otago Association notified that they were prepared to play South Canterbury senior and junior teams at Dunedin on August 10th. —It was decided to accept the date suggested by Otago, and that two teams be sent. A ladies’ representative trial game was fixed for Saturday next, at Timaru Mr J. Brett, of Geraldine, was appointed manager of the South Canterbury team for Thursday. It was decided that the ladies’ six-a-side tournament be held on August 10th, and that entries close on August Bth. Arrangements were finalised for the Australian match on Thursday next. The Timaru portion of the South Canterbury team will leave the Stafford at 1.30 by car. The Geraldine Sub-Association reported that all arrangements were complete for the match, and for the dance. The Association decided to congratulate Messrs F. Cowles and M. Brooks on their inclusion in the New Zealand team. SATURDAY’S MATCHES. Ladies. Trial Game. —Referees, L. Davis and W. Hawkey. Men. Trinity v. Temuka, Park No. 1, at 3 p.m.; referees, L. Dockrill and W. Stead. South End v. Cambridge A. Park No. 1, at 2 p.m.; referees, L. Davis and W. Gow. Cambridge B, a bye. REPRESENTATIVE TEAM.
