INTRIGUE IN MONGOLIA. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SHANGHAI, July 28. Despite signs of the early resumption of some form of negotiation between China and Russia, the Chinese are steadily tightening their grip on the Chinese Eastern Railway. Nanking has received urgent despatches from Kalgan and Urga disclosing the Soviet’s subversive activities in outer Mongolia, where a Mongolian rebellion is expected at any moment. Nanking announces that additional troops are not necessary in the north, the present force of 200,000 men being considered adequate for the protection of the border. SOVIET SUPPORTERS IN LONDON. PC LICE STOP DEMONSTRATION. (United Press Association—By Electro Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, July 28. The police frustrated an attempt at a hostile demonstration at the Chinese Legation in London, after an anti-war meeting at Trafalgar Square. Communists demonstrated outside the Legation, but mounted police moved them on. A scrimmage occurred, but there were no incidents of note.
