RESTORATION FUND EXHAUSTED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraon—Copyright.) LONDON, June 12. Admiral Sir George Hope, speaking at the annual meeting of the Society for Nautical Research, at the Royal United Services’ Institution, said the fund to save the Victory, which was begun in 1922 and realised £75,000, was now exhausted. Since they had started the work of restoration and preservation in 1923, more than £IOO,OOO had been spent upon the ship. Sir George disclosed that on the occasion of visiting H.M.S. Victory the King made suggestions for restoration, at present being carreid out. The Admiralty agreed to assist with the work from the Naval votes, and had given a site and buildings within a stone's throw of the Victory for the purpose of a museum. Sir George declared that all human ingenuity could suggest to preserve Nelson's flagship had been done.
