TUBES WELL SHAKEN.

An English manufacturer of “valve* (vacuum tubes) pulled a stunt by dropping a dozen ot them, in the cartons used for packing, from an airplane 600 feet up. While most ot them were somewhat damaged, o, course, “a new line of research was suggested by the discovery that ono specimen had increased its emission 2d per cent.'’ AUTOMATIC RECEIVERS.
