WHAT TO EAT.

Three London hospitals are to have dieting experts on their staff. Two of them are to be women. This is quite right, for though men eat food it is women who usually have to choose it, buy it, and. cook it. And men will not get the right kind of food il women do not know what it is. But that is,the dhicial question. What is the best diet? We hear a great deal about food values. “We must have plenty of Vitamin A and Vitamin B,” says one professor. “Not too much protein.” urges an- < I'cr. And a third weighs in with :i grave warning against nitrogenous excess. All this, however, does not greatly help the ordinary non-scientific consumer. He wants these technical terms translated into plain words. He wants to know the ideal diet, not for human ity at large, but for the individual in particular. Perhaps the hospital experts will in due course let us know.
