CAR ACCIDENT By Telegraph—Preen Association. WAIPAWA, February 28. A serious motor accident occurred early in the hours of this morning in the main street. Passing the Memorial Clock, a car, owned by Mr Carnaby, of Dannevirke, swerved into the gutter, came into violent collision with a telegraph post, and was badly wrecked. The five occupants of the car were all more or less badly injured, two being removed to the Waipukurau Hospital. LITTLE GIRL INJURED. By Telegraph—Prear Aaaociation. CHRISTCHURCH, February 28. Mary Winter, aged 11, was struck by a passing tram car on Ferry Road, this afternoon, the wheels passing over one foot, and almost severing it. The child was removed at once to hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate one log Her other injuries were not serious, and her condition is reported to be improving.
