The Railways Commissioner has been advised that the Herbert river bridge is twelve feet under water. The bridge over the Seymour river is submerged to a depth of two feet. On the Bellerden plains the water is 3 to 4 feet over the rails for several miles, and is still rising. Telegraphic and telephonic com munieation is interrupted. It will b© impossible to run trains horn Cairns to Townsville for several days.
