Feminity dominates the spring and summer fashions, according to the latest Paris decree. Severe lines are surrendering to flounces, godets and panels, especially flounces, cuiior narrow, and closely-gathered, or wide pleated, cut on the cross mi order to give the flare. Many sleeves are also frilled, especially above the elbow. There is also a revival of lace and beautifully embroidered material which is spiced by intricate designs of old Persian fabrics and antique Civ"nett materials. Among the moderns are floral motifs or quaint figures scattered over delicately shaded silk. Some < f the most charming of the season's frocks are made of crppo de cfcene. and crepe georgette. Patou is showing dresses which just miss the floor, and is featuring gowns short in the front and long at the, sides and back. Pratou is using much mousseline de soire, decorated with a wealth of frills, and flounces for evening dresses, also tulle frocks with plain tight-fitting bodices and very wide skirts, trimmed to suggest panniers and decletage high w the front and low in the back.

Steel and smoke grey are the mist favourite shades in stockings, on which are openwork clocks which are growing more decorative, while lace motifs are woven in evening stockings. Hats show more brim and trimming, the latter sometimes consisting of bunches of flowers, notably cajnelia3 and gardenias.
