BRUTAL ASSAULT.
AN ARREST MADE. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 27. A young married woman, Maude ■ Eileen McGregor, was brutally assaultj ed last night near the gate of Princess Street wharf. She was removed to hospital with , severe facial injuries. I The gatekomier heard a woman ‘screaming, and found Mrs McGregor living in a pool of blood. I It Is alleged her husband was standing over her in a threatening attitude. i Frederick Hnrvev McGregor (37) ! clerk, was arrested on a rbarge of assault and appeared at the Police ■ Court and was remanded on £SO bail. ! ft was stated that while Mrs McGregor’s injuries were certainly severe, thev were not thought likelv jto have serious result.
