Miss B. Twigg, Geraldine, is on a .isit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs George Lyons, Fairlie, are staying at Geraldine. The Misses Lane, Arthur Street, will leave to-day on a visit to England. Miss Cartwright, Orbell Street, will return from Geraldine to-day. Miss Theomin. Dunedin, is staying at “Te Kiteron,” Waimate. Archbishop and Mrs Wright, Sydney, are on a visit to Christchurch. Lady Milbanke has been seen lately in a shaved lamb coat trimmed with fox Miss Betty Murray, “Braemar Station,” is the guest of Mrs Donald Burnett, Hakataramea. Mrs Treman, Winchester, is the guest of Mrs W. H. Orbell, ‘‘The Levels.” Mr and Mrs F. Pollock, Waimate, have returned from a visit to Geraldine. Mrs Wells and her niece, Miss Gascoigne, Auckland, are expected at the Bungalow on Friday. Mrs McLean, “Glasnevin,” Amberley, and her two young daughters, are at the Bungalow. Mr and Airs A. Burns, Christchurch, who have been staying at the Bungalow, are motoring home to-morrow. All* and Airs Papprill, Cashmere, with their daughter Airs Phvs Alorgan, have been two weeks at the Bungalow, and are motoring, home to-morrow. Commander Attwood of H.AI.S. Laburnum and Airs Attwood,. are expected at the Bungalow on Saturday. Their children, Alarion and John, are already there. Airs J. Lee and Aliss Joan Lee, Timaru, left for Christchurch on Tuesday. The Alisses Hayes, who have been staying with Airs Smith, Alarchweil istreet, have returned to Dunedin.

Last Saturday afternoon the Committee of the Waimate Plunket Society met at ‘‘Heathei lie,” the home of the president, Airs G. A. Manchester, to make a presentation to Mrs R. B. Hurst, who has resigned the position of secretary to the Society. Airs Alanrhoser. on behalf of the Committee, thanked Airs Hurst for all she had done, and said how sorry they were that she had resigned. She had been a. most efficient secretary, and had always worked very hard for the Society. Airs Manchester then asked Mrs Hurst to accept a fountain pen in recognition of her good work. A dainty afternoon ten was handed round, and an interesting competition brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. Those present beside the guest of honour were Mrs G. Dash, Mrs IC. |C.
