MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS.

BUSINESS MEN MEET. At a large and representative meeting of business men. held in the Stafford Tea Rooms yesterday morning, municipal matters of importance were discussed. The following resolution was carried by a large majority:—“That it be recommended to the council that in the opinion of this meeting it would be advisable that the number of councillors be reduced to nine.” The matter of approaching present Councillors to again accept nomination was d’ficussed and a committee from the meeting was elected to form a deputation for the purpose of waiting upon them.
