ARTHUR—AVOODING

Simply, but attractively decorated with autumn leaves, flowers and a wedding bell of white lilies, St. Thomas’ Church, AAkiodburv, was the scene of aa interesting wedding on Tuesday last, whim the A r en. Archdeacon Purelias officiated at the marriage of Doris Fay, youngest daughter of Air and Airs j. AVopding, to George Alalcolm, only son of Mr and Airs E. AI. Arthur, “Stvathdoon,” Trafalgar Street, Timaru. Aliss Hawke presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on tho arm of her father, wore a charming model frock of white georgette, and bridal clotli, a long veil of silk tulle, embroidered with silver horseshoes, and carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers, and maidenhair fern. Afiss Beatrice AA T ooding and Miss Edith Arthur attended as bridesmaids. Ali«s AVooding wore an attractive frock of gold crepe de cliene. and georgette, and hat of deep cream crinoline straw, with gold ribbon. JTor bouquet was of golden chryr theranms. AUss Arthur wore a. daintv /Iross of roft blue, crepe de cliene and white crinoline liar, trimmed with flowers of pink and blue. She carried a bonciuet of blue flowers with touches of pink. Afr S. T)avidson. acted as best man. and Air K. AAmoding as groomsman. After the ceremonv, a rceoption was held at “A"<rorlland Grange,” tlio home of the bride’s parents. A marquee and tables wore prettily decorated with bush greenery and blue- and gold streamers. Airs AAkioding, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a dress of vieux rose repp, with necordeon-ploated skirt, a black fur, and black velour bat. She carried a bouquet of multi-coloured roses. Airs Arthur, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a smart costume of black crepe de cliene, black bat with floral spray. Her bouquet was of bronze chrysanthemums. Later in the afternoon. Air and Airs G. AI. Arthur left for North Canterbury, the bride wearing a stylish threepiece suit, and hat of beige.
