SUICIDE ATTEMPTED.
MURDERER’S GRIM ORDEAL. (United Press Association—By Electric , Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, May 1. Browne attempted suicide in the Pentonville prison, says the “Daily Express.” He tried to CUt his throat with a: piece of steel while in bed, inflicting severe wounds, one half an inch deep.
A warder on entering the condemned cell noticed blood stains on the bedding, and summoned the governor and doctor. •
Browne’s -wounds were dressed, and he was carried in a weak condition to hospital.
