HUNTING.

MEET AT ALBUIIY. Hounds met last week in the Aibury district. The day to begin with was very unpromising for sport, as a warm nor’-wester was blowing, and it was not expected that scent would lie. After a very welcome tea, provided by Mr and Mrs Macaulay, by the roadside, hounds moved off to draw a paddock of Mr Irving’s. It was not long before a hare was afoot, which gave tiic field a run of about a mile, and was then lost in a crop of turnips. Another paddock was then tried, and it was not long before hounds were again in lull cry. This time puss gave the field a long chase in an easterly direction, and at Messrs Austins' ( homestead turned right-handed and (headed for the downs. Here, tho ! paddocks being drier, scent far ed, and after several fruitless easts, hounds ! were taken back to the lower-lying country, where it was found scent was better. A fresh hare, was put up in a paddock near the road, and set -off towards the downs. Alter some uphill running, puss decided for the low country and at a plantation swung ieit-handed and headed for the road. Crossing the road, puss entered Mr Stewart’s property and it was now seen that the riverbed was her objective. This she gained only just in time and hounds were denied a we'l-deserved kill. Another short run, and hounds were packed up for the day. Jfivery, body then adjourned to Mr Macaulay's homestead, where Mr and Mrs Macaulay made all welcome and provided a much appreciated lunch.
